She works hard for the money

Work is kicking my class-taking ass.

We had an employee pull a no call no show (after being spotted by our manager out at a restaurant when she was supposedly home sick), and covering all her 35 hours of scheduled work is putting almost everyone over 40 hours this week. I was already scheduled for about 36 hours this week, so until today I was mostly just sticking around a little after my shifts to make sure the next shift would go smoothly...but then today we had a girl call in who was scheduled to close tonight and open tomorrow...so now I am opening on my day off. Ugh.

On top of all my many working hours this week, I am also sufficiently behind in every one of my 3 summer classes this session. I am about to email all my professors and beg them to understand that I am really not slacking off, I'm just working crazy long days that have happened to overlap perfectly with the times my homework is due by...not to mention the fact that I am behind on my reading for all of them because I keep working nights- the time when I would normally do my best studying.Yuck!

I hit the annual Wine and Clay festival at the Llano Winery last weekend, and like last year, it was great fun. I bought pieces from the same 2 people as last year, so I guess that makes me a collector now! I tried the Riesling for the first time, and its a new favorite. I wound up with 3 bottles of wine, and I'm thinking it might be time to bust into one of them after the day I had today. I'm exhausted, and now that I've updated- I'm out.
